Top tips for the hazard perception test

  • Click as soon as you see a hazard starting to develop — not when it's fully formed.
  • You can click multiple times in a short window, but clicking too many times in one clip will score zero for that clip.
  • Look for vehicles pulling out, pedestrians stepping into the road, and cyclists changing direction.
  • One clip contains two scoreable hazards — stay alert throughout.
  • You cannot pause or rewind the clips — treat each one as the real thing.
  • Practise daily in the week before your test to build reaction speed.
